For most of my career, I’ve been entrenched in the corporate and tech world, building companies, scaling platforms, and optimizing processes. My work is usually focused and professional, with clear objectives and measurable outcomes. But today, I want to talk about something deeply personal — a passion project that started when I was a teenager and never truly left me.

This is the story of Starbringers: The Awakening, a novel I’ve been crafting over the last year in my spare time — nights, weekends, and stolen moments between the demands of work and life. It’s a sci-fi adventure that has lived in my mind since I was 14 years old, and now, with the help of an incredible community, it’s finally taking flight through Kickstarter pre-orders ahead of a 2025 release.

When I first started dreaming up the Starbringers universe, I was a teenager obsessed with science fiction. I spent hours scribbling notes about characters, worlds, and epic battles that spanned galaxies. The possibilities of space, its infinite scale and the moral questions it inspires, captivated me in a way nothing else could. But like most teenage dreams, it got put on hold.

Life moved fast. I became a computer scientist, an entrepreneur, and a builder of companies. I dove headfirst into creating real-world solutions, scaling businesses, and managing the day-to-day chaos that comes with growth. My dream of telling stories sat in the background, waiting patiently for the right moment.

That moment finally arrived in 2023. After years of telling myself I didn’t have time, I realized that time was never going to appear on its own. I had to make it. So, I started carving out late nights and early mornings, creating a space where the Starbringers universe could take shape.

The writing process was both exhilarating and exhausting. Some days I felt unstoppable, typing out entire chapters in a single sitting. Other days, I stared at the screen, doubting whether I could pull it off. Writing isn’t just about finding the time — it’s about protecting it, even when life throws everything else your way.

Auryn Selara: A Starbringer.

Auryn, the protagonist of Starbringers: The Awakening, became my guide. She’s a young Starbringer, part of a council tasked with preserving balance across the galaxy. But she’s also deeply human, grappling with questions of loyalty, power, and her place in the universe. As I wrote her story, I couldn’t help but see pieces of my own journey reflected in hers.

Her choices — between following tradition or forging her own path — mirrored some of the decisions I’ve faced in my career and life. And like Auryn, I found myself questioning not just what I was doing, but why I was doing it.

Creating the Starbringers universe wasn’t just about telling Auryn’s story; it was about building a galaxy full of mysteries, ancient relics, and strange new worlds. It was about exploring the moral complexities of wielding great power and the consequences of decisions that ripple across entire star systems.

Starbringers The Awakening: First of a book saga.

The Starbringer Council, the enigmatic body that governs Auryn’s people, became a fascinating puzzle to unravel. Are they saviors, manipulators, or something in between? Writing their dynamic with Auryn challenged me to think deeply about authority, responsibility, and the human cost of loyalty.

Over the course of a year, this universe grew from scattered ideas into a fully realized narrative. The Starbringers are more than characters — they’re reflections of the choices we all face in life: to follow, to lead, or to question.

As I near the release of Starbringers: The Awakening, I’m beyond excited to invite readers into this universe. The Kickstarter campaign isn’t just about funding a book; it’s about building a community of people who share a love for epic sci-fi and bold storytelling.

Backers have the chance to receive exclusive rewards, from signed hardcover editions to the unique opportunity to name a character in the story. This campaign is just the beginning of something much larger. I envision the Starbringers universe expanding with merchandise, a card game, and even more stories that dive deeper into its rich lore.

Looking back, I’m proud of the work that went into this project — not just the writing itself, but the decision to finally make time for something that had been a part of me for so long. It’s proof that even in the busiest moments of life, there’s room for creativity and passion if you’re willing to fight for it.

To everyone who supports Starbringers: The Awakening, thank you. This story exists because of you — because of your belief in the power of storytelling and the magic of imagination.

Pre-orders are live now on Kickstarter, and I can’t wait to share this universe with you when the book launches in 2025. Visit Starbringers.com to join the adventure. Together, let’s bring this galaxy to life.
